ABOUT ME
Thank you for visiting my website. I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 25 years of experience in providing mental health services as a psychotherapist.

I earned my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver in 2000, with a dual specialty focus in child, family, and couples therapy and women’s issues.  I also earned a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver in 1999 as part of my Doctoral program; a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Guidance in 1994 from New York University; and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in 1992 from the State University of New York at Albany.

I possess a wide range of clinical expertise and have provided treatment services to a diverse clientele with varying treatment needs across many clinical settings since earning my first Master’s Degree in 1994. I also possess a specific clinical and research interest in women’s issues, particularly women’s health and treatment concerns, and participate in various related professional activities.

Before entering into private practice in 2005, I provided individual, couples, family and group psychotherapy services and mental health evaluations for adults and adolescents involved with the criminal justice system and their families, with various mental health and substance abuse needs, throughout the Denver metropolitan area with Colorado Assessment and Treatment Center.  I have also offered my expertise in numerous professional activities related to clinical and research supervision and consultation and served as a part-time faculty member with Metropolitan State University of Denver, teaching undergraduate psychology courses.

I completed my American Psychological Association approved Predoctoral Psychology Internship at University Counseling and Behavioral Health, University of Denver in affiliation with Colorado Psychiatric Health and University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, providing individual and couples psychotherapy, outreach, and psychoeducational services to University of Denver students, employees, and staff, as well as clinical supervision to doctoral level student trainees.  Additionally, I provided consultation to and collaborative care with primary care physicians and health care providers at the University of Denver Student and Community Health Center as part of my Primary Care specialization.

As a doctoral student, I completed a field placement providing individual psychotherapeutic services to clients with various mental health and substance abuse needs through Adams Community Corrections Program Phoenix Center, a halfway house for adults involved in the criminal justice system, in Henderson, Colorado.

Additionally, I provided outreach and family psychotherapy services through a joint outreach program between the University of Denver Professional Psychology Center and Knapp Elementary School (Denver Public Schools) and provided individual, family, and couples psychotherapy services to adults, adolescents and children at the University of Denver Professional Psychology Center. I also completed a field placement with Cory Elementary School (DPS), providing psychotherapeutic and supportive services to students diagnosed with learning disabilities and emotional difficulties, as well as psychological and educational assessment and evaluation services.

Prior to returning to graduate school for my doctorate, I provided intensive home-based individual, family and couples psychotherapeutic services for children, adolescents and their families involved with child welfare and protection services in the Albany-Schenectady, New York area with the Northeast Parent and Child Society’s Families Work program, where I served as Co-Chair of the agency-wide Cultural Diversity Committee, and the Center for Family and Youth’s Project STRIVE program.

As a Master’s level student, I completed a practicum providing counseling and psychoeducational services to adolescents at Kaplan House, a residential treatment facility for foster youth in New York City, and a psychoeducational practicum with Planned Parenthood of Greater Northern New Jersey.
